Matana a.s.

Matana a.s. is a corporation formed and wholly owned by the Jewish Community of Prague.  Its sole purpose is the maintenance, preservation and restoration of all Jewish sites in the ownership or jurisdiction of the Jewish Community of Prague.  This territory amounts to approximately 1/3 of the country, and includes 181 of the approximately 360 Jewish burial sites in the country.

Under a new project,  approximately 100 Jewish cemeteries in the jurisdictions of the 9 smaller Czech Jewish communities have been transferred to the Federation of Jewish Communities of the Czech Republic and under separate mandate, these sites are also administered by Matana a.s.
