An anonymous descendant of Tachov made a very generous donation to fund an architectural/archaeological project on the site of the former synagogue, and to expand and renew an exhibit documenting Jewish Communities of Tachov and the Tachov district in the Muzeum Českého lesa, in Tachov, Czech Republic.
The donations were made to honor the memory of David and Sophie Langschur Glauber, former residents of Tachov, as well as in memory of all the other former Jewish residents of Tachov. The project was the continued work of Dr. Vaclav Chvatal, Robert Dvorak and others.
The project included:
The removal of an original mosaic from the site of the former synagogue which was burned down by the Nazis on November 10. 1938. The remaining walls were later demolished. The mosaic was removed and placed in the Muzeum Českého lesa.

A detailed survey and archaeological study of the former synagogue site was carried out, original artifacts were recovered, and a model of the synagogue made for display in the museum.
Jewish settlement in Tachov is thought to date back to the 13th century, and documentation of its existence dates back to the 15th century. An old synagogue from the 16th century had been rebuilt several times was destroyed by fire in 1911 and subsequently demolished. The new synagogue was constructed in 1911-1912 according to the design of architect Alfred Grotte. The synagogue was burned down on Kristallnacht, November 10, 1938 and the remaining walls were later pulled down.
